    Peanut Butter Pupcakes

To say I’m an ‘extra’ dog mom would be pretty accurate. I have painted portraits of my dogs hanging in my daughter’s nursery. I have been known to sleep in the most uncomfortable positions, just so I don’t disturb their sleep. You should see them, they look like little angels when they are all curled up! I also make them homemade all-natural dog treats, because the internet has scared me with the stories about the ingredients that are going into dog food and treats. Naturally, I made homemade pupcakes to celebrate Teddy’s Gotcha Day! What’s a gotcha day? Basically, it’s a celebration of the day you adopted your pet. Because…

Favorite Places in Denver for Kids Under Three

It can be tough to find fun, age appropriate places to take your baby or toddler for outings, but discovering new spots to check out with Olivia is one of my favorite things! There are so many neighborhood parks and hiking trails near where we live, but sometimes it’s nice to change up the routine. While there are a lot of options for kids of preschool age or older, I’m never sure what age is the appropriate time for those. So, I compiled a short list of places in Denver (where we live) that we’ve taken Olivia that she’s really enjoyed. And I’m always looking for new suggestions! Storytime at…

Easter Basket Ideas For Babies and Toddlers

If you’ve known me for longer than a minute than you know I get a little crazy about the holidays. I hate to use the word crazy, but in this case it’s warranted. My friends, family and husband have had to reel me back in a few times from going way over the top with my plans and decorations. I mean, renting a live reindeer for a Christmas party does not sound absurd to me in the slightest. Side note: If you are person who has done this, message me! I want to be best friends! Last Easter Olivia was not even five months old and I already wanted to…

Springtime Dessert: Vanilla Cake with Buttercream Frosting and Edible Nest

I am a sucker for anything themed, so naturally when any holiday rolls around I’m immediately on the hunt for a similarly themed dessert for our family gatherings. I found this Speckled Malted Coconut Cake by Emily Nabors Hall on the Country Living website that looked like perfection! Well, almost perfection – my husband and I are not fans of coconut or coconut flavoring (much to the disappointment of my mother). While I’m sure that Emily’s recipe is amazing and delicious, I decided to make my Easter egg cake with my favorite vanilla cake recipe and a light blue buttercream frosting. The nest is made of phyllo (or fillo) dough and is filled…

    Buttery Earl Grey Shortbread Cookie

One of the reasons I decided to start a blog is to have a place to share the creations I’m baking up in the kitchen. I am by no means a professional baker of any kind, and I have had more than my fair share of failures, but that has yet to deter me from trying to fatten up my friends and family with delicious recipes I find. My love for baking really only started about five years ago when I started making organic dog treat recipes for Kona, and from there I ventured out to pie design and anything I can find that is deliciously sweet. So, fair warning,…

    A Little About Me…

A little over a year ago I became a Mom to a beautiful 6 lb 6 oz baby girl. We named her Olivia, and boy did she change our world! When you’re pregnant (and sometimes even beforehand) people tell you that the moment your first meet your child everything will change. Of course I was pretty skeptical of this statement because I was never a “baby person”. Don’t get me wrong. I loved seeing other people’s babies, spending time with my nephew or my friends’ children, but I was never left with this yearning desire to have a child. Well, NEWS FLASH!!!! They were right! The moment I held her…
